Wonderland Fire 1907
Revere Beach Postcard
When I was first doing research and found this picture of a Revere Beach Fire, I assumed that this is what happened to Wonderland, and that Wonderland was destroyed by fire. But this is not the case. (However Coney Island's Park was destroyed by fire.)
So apparently this picture card is of a spectacular feature at Wonderland called "Fighting the Flames," a re-creation of a great city fire.
The park did suffer financial difficulties in 1911, and closed. But why? What kind of financial difficulties did they have? World War 1 hadn't even started yet, nor the Depression. This postcard is dated 1907.
