Ocean Pier Dancing Pavilion

Does this look like a great place to go or what? A pier leads to a ballroom built over the water. When we visited Revere Beach you could still see the wooden footings in the water where this magnificent building used to be.
But what is this huge beautiful structure? The card says it is a Dancing Pavilion. I wonder how many young ladies were proposed to at this dancing Pavilion.
