Goddard State Park Beach in Warwick RI
Here's a picture of what Goddard Memorial State Park beach looks like.
For a long time I thought Goddard Park was in West Greenwich RI, until I found out it's in Warwick RI.
There are many nice paths to hike in the woods, lots of picnic tables, well manicured fields to play in, and a nice golf course to play golf.
We really like going to Goddard, especially the beach.
The waves don't get high here because it sit's in a cove, so it's a good family beach, but it is recommended that you wear watershoes in the water because of the shells.
Goddard Park has a long history of use, and was a huge farm for a long time. I read that the owner of this farm planted every variety of tree there was on his farm, and many of these trees are still standing today.
Once we came here in the winter to see what it looked like, and the cove was practically frozen over. The wind was whipping, and we sure didn't stay very long. Unfortunately those pictures are on our video cam.
Goddard State Park still doesn't charge for you to get in, and they give you some trash bags so you can take all your trash out with you.
DIRECTIONS: Hwy. 1 North or South to Old Forge Rd. You'll see signs.
Disclaimer: As with everything in RI, you can almost bet this
information and the rates will eventually change.
